"Life is too short to wake up in the morning with regrets. So love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said that it'd be easy, they just promised it would be worth it."
well well well...look who showed up in AmyLouPics' mail box today, "Little U" aka "U-girl". She arrived in Middleton MA safe and sound all the way from Jodi's home in NYC.
Don;t worry Jodi..we will treat her like a queen here in Boston and I will be sure to introduce her to all my fellow flickr friends in MA.
At first, li'l boots was a little bent out of shape about having to share his spot in my camera bag with U-girl, but they seem to be playing together just fine and lil boots is anxious to show U-girl around town.
Thanks soooooo Much Jodi for letting U-girl come to Boston to live...we will definately have to get Little E and U-girl back for a reunion.
Took a walk this morning, in Beverly MA, with my friend Megan. We were on Lothrop Street which runs along side Dane Street Beach. The Silhouette of these candles caught my eye...as I looked at them through the front window with the back window directly behind it.
A study from the February 2008 issue of the Journal of Consumer Research finds that exposure to something that whets the appetite, such as a picture of a mouthwatering dessert, can make a person more impulsive with unrelated purchases,
For example, the researchers reveal in one experiment that the aroma of chocolate chip cookies can prompt women on a tight budget to splurge on a new item of clothing.
We got about 10 inches of snow today in Northeast Massachusetts. I took a nice long walk around the neighborhood this afternoon. Came across this old grave yard and found these Sweethearts in the Snow.
Precious Gift My Maternal Grandmother passed away when I was in Jr. High School. and I inherited her sterling silver rosary beads. She left us way too early and I always wished i had gotten the chance to know her better as i grew into an adult and had a child of my own. I have Very fond memories of her and Having this special item of hers makes me believe that she is watching down on her family and sending positive energy. I love you Grandma B.
Went to Plum Island MA late afternoon to catch the sunset...It was Awesome with beautiful whispy clouds. This is the watch tower that we climbed up to view the sunset.
Meet li'l boots. He was found outside our back door at work this week. He was tired from his journey and so I took him in, warmed him up and asked if he would like to tag along with me. "YES", li'l boots said. So he hopped into my camera bag and me and li'l boots will explore the world together.
Today i got the chance to play around with My Son's Canon 350D (Rebel XT). So Today, I took a picture of MY Canon S3 using his 50mm 1:1.8 lens. I LOVE it. Because it was low light i use a very low aperture and 1600 ISO...Not a perfect picture but of all the ones i took, I just kind of liked the color and the angle and JUST the way it turned out.
My Son's Camera. He said i could use it so i was playing around with his 50mm lens and i was going to take my picture of the day with it...and the battery died...and he does not have a back up battery...ugh.
Ok....this is MY 365 project so they are my rules. I am feeling so unmotivated today and I took over 175 photos yesterday...so I am giving myself a "bi" today. And using one of yesterday's photos. I will be back on track tomorrow..
Winter sunsets are the Best! I have decided to make a calendar of sunsets/views from my work window, for an ex-coworker who now does not have this wonderful window view.
High on this mountain The clouds down below I'm feeling so strong and alive From this rocky perch I'll continue to search For the wind and the snow and the sky Oh I want a lover and I want some friends And I want to live in the sun And I want to do all the things that I never have done Sunny bright mornings and pale moonlit nights Keep me from feeling alone Now I'm learning to fly and this freedom is like Nothing that I've ever known Oh I've seen the bottom and I've been on top But mostly I've lived in between And where do you go when you get to the end of your dream Off in the Nether Lands I heard the sound Like the beating of heavenly wings And deep in my brain I can hear a refrain Of my soul as she rises and sings Anthems to glory and anthems to love And hymns filled with earthly delight Like the songs that the darkness composes to worship the light Once in a vision I came on some woods And stood at a fork in the road My choices were clear yet I froze with the fear Of not knowing which way to go Oh, one road was simple acceptance of life The other road offered sweet peace When I made my decision My vision became my release

January 1, 2008 Happy New Year! Today was a day for organizing. I backed up months worth of photos onto my external hard drive, also saved them to disks and deleted lots from my laptop to make room for 2008.
Lessons I learned this past year... 1. Back up, Back up, Back up. 2. Always carry backup batteries for my camera when I leave the house.
