Day 274
Every time I look at you the world just melts away
All my troubles all my fears dissolve in your affections
You've seen me at my weakest but you take me as I am
And when I fall you offer me a softer place to land
You stay the course you hold the line you keep it all together
You're the one true thing I know I can believe in
You're all the things that I desire, you save me, you complete me
You're the one true thing I know I can believe

Day 271.Luvyourhat
I went to the Golf Show at the World Trade Center in Boston today. I met a wonderful, charming and passionate woman, Sue. Sue lost her husband to pancreatic cancer in October 2006, after 33 years of marriage. Sue created "Luvyourhat" company to honor his memory and to help save other precious lives. She makes and sells these beautiful and fun sparkled hats and donates the net proceeds to Lustgarten (www.lustgarten.org) a private foundation for pancreatic cancer research. Please visit her web site www.luvyourhat.com to see what other hats she sells and to read her story. Thanks.
(I bought this fantastic black visor....I am wearing it right now as I write this...and I love it) Thanks Sue for your courage to make something positive out of a very tragic event in YOUR life. Bless you.

Day 270
Went to the Merrimack River Eagle Festival in Newburyport today.
It was presented by Mass Audubon;s Joppa Flats Education Center and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.
This is Teddy...
Teddy is a great example of the smallest species of owl in New England. He was an adult when he flew into a window in Old Saybrook during 2001. Although he is able to fly a little, he cannot sustain long flights, which would allow him to migrate to Canada each spring. He also joins Wind Over Wings in Clinton CT, from the Branford River Raptor Center who rehabilitated him during his initial injury. Teddy is so calm during environmental education programs that he often falls asleep on the glove.

Day 257 Plum Island
Think Like a Tree
by Karen I. Shragg
Soak up the sun
Affirm life's magic
Be graceful in the wind
Stand tall after a storm
Feel refreshed after it rains
Grow strong without notice
Be prepared for each season
Provide shelter to strangers
Hang tough through a cold spell
Emerge renewed at the first signs of spring
Stay deeply rooted while reaching for the sky
Be still long enough to
hear your own leaves rustling.
